Why we do what we do

Moxom and Whitney was born out of a desire to bring beautiful flowers to Canberra and its surrounds in a way that hadn’t been done before. We don’t overly work our flowers, we prefer a more organic and lush look to our bouquets and you will never ever see a cardboard box stuffed with oasis, garish cello or gerberas here.  We are located on eclectic Lonsdale Street in the heart of Canberra. Co-owned by Lou Moxom and Belinda Whitney, we are not only unique; but very honest. Why flowers you ask? Because nothing brings as much joy as creating an incredible explosion of flowers and greenery and seeing the delight it brings to anyone who sees it.

We get our kicks from showering Canberra and its surrounds with not only beautiful flowers but also unique, made on the premises, terrariums. Miniature worlds of lush green moss, ferns and indoor plants featuring tiny “people” and “animals” in all manner of situations and scenarios.

So, who are these guys?

Hi there! We’re Lou and Belinda (Bin), co-owners/flower Queens of Moxom and Whitney. We have over twenty years experience between us in the floral industry and opened Moxom and Whitney in 2012.  We are just two best friends who were frustrated with the Canberra floral scene – so we decided to create our own!

We always dreamed of creating a florist that respected the beauty of nature. Mother Nature is pretty spectacular and she knows what she’s doing when it comes to flowers. We like to work with seasonal blooms to create wild arrangements that enhance the natural artistry of the flowers.

What can we do for you?

What are you looking for today? No matter the job, we’ve got your back. We specialise in corporate and event work, floral styling and unique weddings of exceptional creativity…. Our philosophy is not only to inspire people through the beauty of flowers but also through the lushness and diversity of greenery-tropical leaves, seeds, pods and native vines and grasses. We believe flowers should never be “over worked” preferring to gather fresh blooms together to maximise their beauty through texture, scent, colour and species.

Like how all this sounds? We love a chat, so give us a call to see how we can help make your day a little brighter.
